YouTube provides multilingual dubbing features for content creators

After two years of trials, YouTube launched a multilingual audio feature that allows creators to add voiceovers in various languages to their content to reach a wider audience.

the feature will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks.

This audio feature was introduced in 2023 in a pilot program that was initially limited to popular content creators such as MrBeast, Mark Robert, and Jamie Oliver.

Creators had to use third-party voiceover services until YouTube introduced an AI-powered automatic voiceover tool powered by Google's Gemini technology that can mimic a creator's tone of voice and emotions.

YouTube says creators have already seen the benefits of the feature.

Creators who upload videos with multilingual audio support average more than 25 percent more watch time from viewers who speak a language other than the primary language in the video.

Jamie Oliver's channel, for example, saw a threefold increase in viewership after using this feature.

YouTube is also piloting a multilingual thumbnail feature with select creators.

Since last June, creators have been able to customize thumbnail text into a language that matches the viewer's preferred language.
