Mexicali: PRI calls for Morena council member to be disqualified for giving social support to his advisors

Mexicali, September 29. The Morena council coordinator should be disqualified, as the granting of social support to his advisors and relatives was proven to be a serious offense.

This was stated by Joel Blas Romero, the representative of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) before electoral bodies, who applauded an investigation by the Municipal Audit Office, which was referred to the State Administrative Court (TEJA).

He explained that the Office of the Comptroller forwarded the case because it considered the violation to be serious.

"Now it's the TEJA that will determine the sanction, and we're awaiting his disqualification," he said.

Months ago, the PRI filed a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller and another with the State Attorney General's Office regarding the granting of nearly 21 grants by Councilman José Ramón López to his advisors and family members.

In particular, they supported their advisors Keyla Karina Cabrera Peñuelas and Fernando Peña.

Nine social benefits worth 8,000 pesos and others for various amounts were delivered.

Councilman José Ramón López downplayed the complaint, saying that he delivered the grants without violating municipal regulations and based on a technical standard.
