Trustee Rafael Leyva swears in honorary social commissioners

Tijuana, September 4 – Rafael Leyva Pérez, the attorney general of the 24th Tijuana City Council, swore in seventy new Honorary Social Commissioners (CSH), who will have the opportunity to contribute to the municipal oversight body to ensure that public services in the neighborhoods and citizen care are adequate.

He reported that the new Commissioners join the 902 already working with the Ombudsman's Office, and of these, 624 have been recruited through the calls for applications issued so far this year, thus achieving coverage of 232 of the 792 neighborhoods throughout the city.

Willpower

During his speech, he maintained that, with the goodwill of the Honorary Social Commissioners, decisive steps are being taken so that, by gauging the impact of this phenomenon, citizens are in a firm position to eradicate corruption in Tijuana.

"According to statistics, every five hours in Tijuana, an act of corruption by a public servant is reported; these are the only ones that are recorded, the ones that are reported to the office of the comptroller, and therefore the ones that are addressed when they are proven," Leyva Pérez emphasized.
