Industry data shows that the number of agricultural machinery companies in China with annual core business revenue exceeding 20 million yuan (about 2.81 million US dollars) has reached 2,271 by 2024.
The Chinese government has also stepped up its efforts to modernize agriculture.
Earlier this year, the 2025 "Central Document No. 1" -- China's main annual policy blueprint for agriculture, rural areas and farmers -- called for the development of "new, high-quality productive forces" in agriculture, using terms that emphasize technological innovation.
