Tijuana, January 4. A currency exchange employee was assaulted and shot Thursday afternoon upon arriving at work.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when the victim and his coworker arrived at the currency exchange office in a vehicle and were hit by another car carrying two individuals.
The attackers stole money from the employee and shot him, leaving him seriously injured .
Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a hospital for medical attention.
The currency exchange office, located at the corner of 9th Street and Quintana Roo Avenue in the Centro Zone, was placed under the protection of authorities.
The exact amount stolen by the attackers is currently unknown , but an operation is underway to capture those responsible.
