Municipal crews remove 200 tons of garbage in three districts.


 Tijuana, August 4. This Monday, city crews collected nearly 200 tons of trash from the median strip and green space of Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez Boulevard in the El Florido Primera Sección neighborhood, as well as from Villa Fontana and Ampliación Gabriel Rodríguez, benefiting nearly 20,000 people. These actions are part of the Tijuana: Ciudad Limpia program.

The waste consists primarily of bulky items such as tires, couches, televisions, and refrigerators, among other household items, according to a press release, which stated that "it is an initiative of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, whose main objective is the urban improvement of the municipality and the reduction of environmental pollution."

In El Florido, La Presa Este district, Adriana Barrera Hernández, head of the Delegation Coordination Office, and Councilman Arturo Aguirre supervised the removal of 5 tons of waste.

Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios, for her part, verified the work being done on León Avenue in the Villa Fontana neighborhood of the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez district. A large-scale cleanup was carried out there, with the removal of 150 tons of bulky waste. The improvement of the urban environment benefited 7,300 people
