Omar Marmoush is set to miss the Manchester derby due to a knee injury.

Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush is confirmed to be absent from the derby match against Manchester United in the Premier League.

The club's official website confirmed that initial tests in Egypt revealed a knee injury that would rule Marmoush out of the Manchester derby.

"Manchester City FC can confirm that Omar Marmoush sustained a knee injury while on international duty with Egypt. The player will return to Manchester for further assessment and to begin rehabilitation. Everyone at City wishes Omar a speedy recovery," the club said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Egyptian player suffered a knee injury while playing for the Egyptian national team in a World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso.
