The Chairman of the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Management John Sihar Simanjuntak said the number of .id or dot id domain users had reached 1,331,180.
"So, as of September 2025, we've reached 1,331,180 domains. This year's target was actually 1,350,000 by the end of the year," John said at a press conference celebrating PANDI's anniversary and the launch of .idFest 2025 in Jakarta on Monday.
John said that of the 1.3 million registered domains, 16 percent of them are spread throughout the world, while 84 percent of .id domains are used nationally.
John explained this because the .id domain is used as a digital identity that is widely used by Web3 players who are also PANDI registrars and are known by major domain players internationally.
Furthermore, the growth of new domain sales channels abroad has influenced the distribution of .id usage outside Indonesia. As of December 31, 2024, .id domains were used in 180 countries, with the five countries with the most users being the United States (17,474 domains), China (10,677 domains), Pakistan (5,084 domains), Cambodia (4,202 domains), and Vietnam (2,568 domains).
