 PT PLN West Nusa Tenggara Regional Main Unit (UIW) through the Mataram Transmission Implementation Unit (UPT) carries out routine and measured maintenance on the transmission network and substations which are vital electricity infrastructure in NTB to ensure customer comfort.

PLN UIW NTB General Manager Sri Heny Purwanti, in a statement received in Mataram said that as the backbone of the electricity system, the High Voltage Air Duct (SUTT) network is a maintenance priority.

It is recorded that PLN manages 544.6 circuit kilometers (kms) of transmission network on Lombok Island and 752.8 kms in the Tambora system which includes Sumbawa Island.

"This network is maintained through regular inspections, equipment repairs, and system testing to ensure a reliable electricity supply," he said.

Furthermore, he said, NTB's electricity reliability is also supported by 26 main substations (GI) spread across two large islands. Thirteen are located on Lombok Island and another 13 are located from Sumbawa Island to Bima.

Substation maintenance includes checking the protection system, calibrating equipment, and cleaning components to ensure the entire system works optimally.

As of August 31, 2025, PLN UIW NTB has served more than two million customers, precisely 2,044,615 customers, consisting of 1,949,665 household customers, 49,829 business customers, 803 industrial customers and the rest are social and government customers.
