Hermosillo, March 31.- Employees of the Nacozari Fundición mine , operated by the Grupo México consortium in Sonora , announced the outbreak of a strike to demand 10 percent of the profit sharing in favor of miners affiliated with the National Union of Workers of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry of the Confederation of Workers of Mexico (CTM).
This Thursday, union leader Javier Villareal Gámez explained that the first minute of Friday, April 1st is the date and time they have scheduled for the outbreak of the strike at one of the copper mines operated by Germán Larrea Mota Velasco in this entity. There he explained that his dissatisfaction is derived from the recent labor reform that prohibits outsourcing .
Villareal Gámez said the reform established a maximum cap of three months' salary or the average profits of the last three years . However, he noted that copper prices have risen dramatically, without benefiting miners.
