Monterrey park suspended after child falls from zip line

Monterrey, June 26.- A 6-year-old boy fell from a zip line approximately 12 meters high at the Expedición Amazonia recreational park, located inside Fundidora Park, so the recreation center was suspended, reported Civil Protection of Nuevo León (PC).

Monterrey Civil Protection officers placed closure seals that will remain in place at the site until the state Civil Protection concludes its investigations and determines whether the facility complied with safety measures and operating permits.

Jean Joseph Leautaud Russek, general manager of Fundidora Park, explained that the security verification at the facility is the responsibility of the State Civil Protection, not Fundidora.

"Out of a public safety concern, Parque Fundidora is taking part in this process, not as an authority, because the authority is State Civil Protection, so they can come and close the facility and conduct a full inspection of the concession, ensuring it meets all the necessary safety measures in light of yesterday's unfortunate incident," he said.

Inspections

The official announced that inspections will be carried out at other park concessions to ensure the safety of visitors.
