The ministry said in its daily statistical report: "72 martyrs and 356 wounded arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals in the past 24 hours," explaining that "the death toll and injuries since the 'resumption of the genocide' on March 18, 2025, until today (Thursday) has reached 12,170 martyrs and 51,818 wounded."
She noted that "a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time," and reported that "the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 64,718 martyrs and 163,859 wounded since October 7, 2023."

Mercenaries distributing aid
In a related development, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said Thursday that the current aid distribution mechanism in the Gaza Strip is run by mercenaries, including anti-Muslim gangs, who have caused the deaths of at least 2,000 Palestinians.
This came in a post by UNRWA on the X platform, in which it stated that at least 2,000 desperate and hungry people were killed while trying to obtain food aid, the vast majority of them near the sites of the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation." The agency added that "this deadly mechanism is operated by mercenaries, including anti-Muslim gangs," according to the BBC (British channel).
UNRWA continued, "Addressing the famine in Gaza requires sustained, widespread, and safe access to those in need wherever they are," reiterating that "the United Nations, including UNRWA and its partners, has the necessary resources and expertise," adding, "Let us do our job."

Beyond the supervision of the United Nations and international relief organizations, Tel Aviv began, on May 27, a mechanism for distributing aid through the Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which Palestinians call the "death trap." The Israeli occupation army deliberately targeted those waiting for aid at distribution points, killing and wounding thousands of them.
Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, preventing any food, medical treatment, or humanitarian aid from entering the Strip. This has plunged the Strip into famine, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders.
Israel sometimes allows the entry of very limited quantities of aid, which fall far short of meeting the minimum needs of the starving population and do not end the famine, especially since most trucks are robbed by gangs that the Gaza government claims Israel protects.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
In addition to the martyrs and wounded, most of whom were children and women, the genocide left more than 9,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced.
