The fourth Global Digital Trade Expo is set to be held in China.

The fourth Global Digital Trade Expo will take place from September 25 to 29 in Hangzhou, capital of eastern China's Zhejiang Province, with preparations largely complete. The event will promote digital trade and industrial cooperation among relevant partners.

In a press conference, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping said that to date, more than 1,700 exhibitors have registered as exhibitors.

The exhibition will cover a total area of 155,000 square meters, equivalent to 20 football fields.

International exhibitors will account for more than 20 percent of the total exhibitors, with over 70 of them being Fortune Global 500 companies, Sheng explained.

Two guest countries, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, will set up national pavilions to showcase their achievements in digital economy development. Meanwhile, more than 30 international organizations, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, will also participate in the event, Sheng explained.

"Digital trade represents a deep integration between digital technology and international trade. It has demonstrated strong resilience and potential by expanding trade boundaries, introducing innovative trade models, and empowering trading entities," Sheng said.

He revealed that China's cross-border e-commerce trade value reached 1.3 trillion yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,310) or around 183 billion US dollars (1 US dollar = Rp16,457) in the first half (H1) of 2025, which marked a record high.

At the expo, a series of research reports on global digital trade developments and China's digital trade development will be released. More than 30 business matchmaking activities for industrial cooperation, investment, and financing will also be held, Sheng said.

To strengthen pragmatic cooperation and industrial development, various thematic events, including the "Silk Road E-Commerce Day" and "Digital Trade Africa Day," will be held again. A new event showcasing the BRICS economic cooperation zone will also be held, Sheng added.
