The verdict hearing for the alleged money laundering (TPPU) case in the Mandiodo Block nickel corruption case has been postponed.

The verdict hearing for the alleged money laundering (TPPU) case in the Mandiodo Block nickel corruption case has been postponed.

The panel of judges at the Corruption Court postponed the hearing to read out the verdict in the alleged money laundering (TPPU) case from the proceeds of corruption in the sale of nickel ore originating from the mining business permit area of PT Antam Tbk, Mandiodo Block, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.

Chief Judge Sri Hartati explained that the panel of judges' decision on the case could not be read out because one of the member judges handling the case, namely Hiashinta Fransiska Manalu, was still in mourning because her parents had died.

"We, the panel of judges, still offer our condolences because one of our members was unable to attend," said the Chief Judge during the hearing to read out the panel of judges' verdict at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday.

For this reason, the Panel of Judges postponed the hearing to read the verdict until Wednesday (24/9) or one week later.

In this case, previously the owner of PT Lawu Agung Mining, Windu Aji Sutanto, was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million, with the provision that if it was not paid, it would be replaced (subsidiary) with a prison sentence of 6 months.

Apart from Windu Aji, PT Lawu Agung Mining's field officer, Glenn Ario Sudarto, was also demanded to be sentenced to 5 years in prison, with the same fine demanded, namely IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Meanwhile, Windu Aji was accused of committing money laundering (TPPU) from the proceeds of corruption in the sale of nickel ore originating from the Antam Mining Business Permit Area (WIUP) Mandiodo Block, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.

Windu Aji used the money to buy a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Mercedes Benz Maybach and a Toyota Alphard, and received IDR 1.7 billion.

Meanwhile, Glenn Ario, who was only a field officer at PT Lawu Agung Mining, was accused of playing a more active role in nickel ore mining, including transporting and selling it.

The results of nickel ore mining carried out by PT Lawu Agung Mining on Antam's land should be handed over to Antam, and cannot be transported and sold to other parties, but Glenn is suspected of buying documents from PT Kabaena Kromit Pratama (KKP) and documents from PT Tristaco Mineral Makmur (TTM) at a price of between 3-5 US dollars per metric ton so that it appears as if the nickel ore comes from the WIUP of PT KKP and PT TMM and can be sold to other parties.
