Their lives are in danger." Al-Qassam Brigades: Communication with two Israeli prisoners in Gaza City has been cut off.

Al-Qassam added in a statement: "Communication with the two prisoners, Omri Miran and Matan Ingris, has been cut off as a result of the barbaric military operations and violent targeting in the Al-Sabra and Tal al-Hawa neighborhoods over the past 48 hours," continuing: "The lives of the two prisoners are in real danger."

Al-Qassam Brigades demanded that the Israeli occupation forces "immediately withdraw to the south of Street 8 (in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood), and halt air raids for 24 hours starting at 18:00 (local time/GMT+3) this evening (Sunday), until an attempt is made to extract the two prisoners." It concluded its statement with the phrase: "He who is warned is excused."

On Monday, the Israeli occupation army advanced hundreds of meters north of the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in the city's southwestern axis, starting from the vicinity of the Dahdouh Junction on Street 8 and the vicinity of the university college, which it had reached in recent weeks.

This advance came as part of a ground operation being carried out by the Israeli occupation army in Gaza City, called "Gideon 2," as part of its plan to occupy the city and displace Palestinians from it.

Tel Aviv estimates there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, some 11,100 Palestinians are languishing in its prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Many of these Palestinians have been killed, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

On September 16, the army announced that it had launched a "large-scale ground operation," with the participation of regular and reserve forces from the 98th, 162nd, and 36th Divisions.

On August 8, the Israeli government approved a plan proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to gradually occupy the entire Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City, home to approximately one million Palestinians.

On August 11, the Israeli occupation army launched an attack on the city, starting from the Zeitoun neighborhood, in an operation later dubbed "Gideon Vehicles 2." The attack included the demolition of homes using booby-trapped robots, artillery shelling, indiscriminate gunfire, forced displacement, and a ground incursion.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 66,005 martyrs and 168,162 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
