This came in a speech delivered during an emergency meeting held during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva regarding Israel's attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha last week.
"The heinous attack targeting Qatar's sovereignty and security is not only a flagrant violation of international law, but also a clear demonstration of Israel's expansionist policies and its adoption of terrorism as a state policy," Aqtashbar stated.
The Turkish delegate pointed out that Israel's ongoing aggression and genocidal intent are already exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
He added, "Israel's violent policies are no longer limited to Palestine, but are destabilizing a wider region, including Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Tunisia, and, most recently, the mediating state, Qatar. Bombing mediators instead of supporting them is unacceptable."
Aqtashbar stressed that Israel's continued violence without punishment poses a serious threat to international peace and security and to the rules-based international order.
He continued, "Will we allow this disregard for international law to become the new normal of our time? Türkiye reiterates its call for accountability and urgent, concrete measures to end the international community's impunity for Israel and to prevent further aggression and escalation."
