Fourteen countries have confirmed their participation in the pencak silat sport, which will be contested for the first time at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Bahrain.
Pencak silat, a traditional martial art from Indonesia, will be one of the sports that will attract attention at the largest youth sports event in Asia.
According to the OCA's official website, Tuesday, the 14 participating countries are host Bahrain, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
This competition is intended for young athletes aged 14–17 years with three categories being competed, namely boys 51–55 kilograms, boys 59–63 kilograms, and girls 51–55 kilograms.
