2025 MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez is confirmed to miss the next two MotoGP rounds, in Australia and Malaysia, after suffering a right shoulder injury that will require a period of recovery.
The news came after Marquez underwent further examinations upon his arrival in Madrid on Monday (October 6th). The diagnosis revealed a fracture at the base of the coracoid process and ligament damage to his right shoulder.
However, the medical team confirmed that Marquez's condition does not require surgery. Radiological examinations also ruled out any association with previous injuries and found no significant bone displacement.
"Fortunately, the injury is not serious, but it is important to respect the recovery schedule," Marquez said in an official team statement on Tuesday.
"My goal is to return before the end of the season, but without rushing beyond the doctor's recommendations. The priority now is to recover well and return to 100 percent," added the Ducati Lenovo rider.
