KONI wants Perwosi to be productive in improving women's sports achievements

Secretary General of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lukman Djajadikusuma wants the Indonesian Women's Sports Association (Perwosi) to be more productive in improving women's sports achievements in the country.

"Women play a significant role in nurturing their children into accomplished athletes. One example is the world's highest sports organization, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which is now led by a woman. In fact, half of Olympic gold medalists are female athletes," said Lukman Djajadikusuma at the 2025 Perwosi XII National Conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Perwosi is a sports organization that brings together and empowers women to be more active in competitive sports, both as participants, coaches, administrators, and supporters of sports activities in the community.

With this strategic role, KONI ensures its full support for Perwosi to continue collaborating for the advancement of national sports.

Lukman hopes that this national conference will strengthen Perwosi's role in supporting the development of female athletes and developing a sports culture within the family environment as a key factor in the initial development of sports.

"We hope this National Conference will produce new leadership that is adaptive, progressive, and responsive to the challenges of the times," he said.
