Global research firm Counterpoint, in its latest report, stated that shipments of smartphone chips with generative artificial intelligence ( Generative AI ) capabilities will grow by 74 percent in 2025 compared to 2024.
The chip in question is a chip that allows smartphones to perform various AI features directly rather than doing AI work in the cloud .
GSM Arena's report, Wednesday (1/10), stated in more detail that of all the chips for smartphones shipped in 2025, 35 percent will be chips with GenAI.
Interestingly, in terms of the distribution of AI chips for smartphones, Apple is the market leader with a market share of 46 percent, followed by Qualcomm with 35 percent, and MediaTek with 12 percent.
