Multinational technology company Apple is expected to release the iPhone 20 series of smartphones in 2027, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
If you follow the order of product series numbers, then the iPhone series released in 2027 should be iPhone 19.
However, according to GSM Arena news on Wednesday (22/10), senior researcher from technology analyst firm Omdia Heo Moo Yeol estimates that Apple will skip one number and directly launch the iPhone 20 series in 2027.
The move would be similar to what Apple did in 2017, when the company immediately released the iPhone X series after releasing the iPhone 8 series.
The iPhone X series, released to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, marked a major change in the product's design. The iPhone 20 series is also expected to feature similar major changes.
Previous reports suggested a new iPhone design with a bezel -less display panel combined with lines, which would make the device look like a piece of glass when viewed from the front.
