Aprilia drops Savadori to replace Jorge Martin at MotoGP Australi

Aprilia Racing has appointed test rider Lorenzo Savadori to replace Jorge Martin at this weekend's Australian Grand Prix at the Phillip Island Circuit, after last year's MotoGP world champion was injured.

"First of all, I want to wish Jorge a speedy recovery," Savadori was quoted as saying by Crash in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Until now, Martin is still recovering from shoulder surgery due to the incident in Motegi, Japan.

“Phillip Island is a beautiful circuit and I can't wait to get back on track,” added Savadori.

Savadori has made nine appearances this season, also replacing Martin, scoring eight points.

The race in Australia will be his 10th appearance and his first comeback since the German Grand Prix.
