Barcelona decided to postpone a promotional event that Lamine Jamal was scheduled to participate in on Tuesday, in a move aimed at calming the tense atmosphere surrounding the player after the match against Real Madrid.

Jamal sparked widespread controversy in recent days after accusing arch-rivals Real Madrid of "stealing and complaining," triggering outrage in Spanish media circles.

During the recent Clásico, the 18-year-old was involved in several altercations with Real Madrid players in the match that ended in a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid last Sunday.

Spanish journalist José Álvarez revealed that Barcelona's management agreed with Jamal to cancel the promotional event where he was scheduled to speak to the press, following advice from club officials that he needed to temporarily step away from the spotlight.

Álvarez said, "Jamal will not participate in the promotional event today because he understands that now is the time to focus on regaining his fitness and improving his performance."

He added that the cancellation had nothing to do with his recent appearance with a YouTube content creator, stressing that that participation was for completely different reasons.

For his part, sports medicine specialist Dr. Pedro Luis Ripoll revealed that Jamal is suffering from a condition known as pubalgia, a chronic injury that affects movement and shooting by up to 50%.

Speaking to the program El Larguero, the doctor said, "The injury doesn't cause structural damage, but it significantly limits physical performance and can last for weeks or even months if not treated properly."

Barcelona has suffered a series of injuries this season, affecting key players such as Lewandowski, Xavi, Ter Stegen, Rafinha, and Dani Olmo, which has impacted their results both domestically and in Europe.

In La Liga, they sit third, five points behind leaders Real Madrid, while in the Champions League, they have six points and are in ninth place, placing them in the play-off zone for the round of 16.

Barcelona will play six crucial matches during November, including domestic fixtures against Elche, Celta Vigo, Athletic Bilbao and Alaves, as well as two tough European matches against Club Brugge and Chelsea.
