The East Java contingent won three gold medals in the martial arts event at the 2025 National Martial Arts Games held at the Djarum Arena Kaliputu, Kudus Regency, Central Java, surpassing the initial target.
"Our initial target in this Tarung Derajat sport was only two gold medals. However, the East Java Tarung Derajat team succeeded in bringing home three golds, one silver, and two bronzes," said the General Chairman of the East Java Tarung Derajat Sports Family Provincial Executive Board, Bambang Haryo Soekartono, accompanied by the Daily Chairman of the East Java Kodrat Provincial Executive Board, Erwin H Poedjono, when met after the medal ceremony at the Djarum Arena Kaliputu, Kudus.
He said that this success was inseparable from the hard work of the athletes, coaches, and the support of the people of East Java.
He said preparations for the 2025 Kudus National Martial Arts Games (PON), including a four-month training camp at the Puslatda (Regional Training Center), were underway, in preparation for the National Student Sports Week (Pomnas). The results were positive, with East Java also securing second place at the event.
"East Java's achievements are showing an upward trend. We hope to reach the top three nationally at the Kudus National Martial Arts Games," he said.
Bambang Haryo also praised the 2025 National Martial Arts Games as an innovative step, as it focused exclusively on martial arts, making this format worthy of being maintained for future events.
