Emma Raducanu ends her season early due to illness

British tennis player Emma Raducanu has decided to end her 2025 season early after withdrawing from two WTA tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong due to illness, as quoted by The Athletic on Thursday.

He will begin pre-season preparations with coach Francisco Roig, who has confirmed his partnership will continue until 2026.

Raducanu's representatives and sources close to Roig confirmed that their partnership has been extended beyond its original 2025 expiration.

Raducanu has been experiencing health problems since last week and was forced to stop her match against Ann Li at the Wuhan Open on Tuesday (7/10) after undergoing a blood pressure check in the hot and humid weather.

At that time, Raducanu was trailing 1-6, 1-4 before deciding to retire. A similar situation occurred in her previous match at the Ningbo Open, when she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin.

The 22-year-old finished the season ranked 29th in the world, a position that could potentially make her a seed for the 2026 Australian Open, unless her ranking changes in the coming weeks.
