Garena Indonesia Country Head Hans Saleh emphasized the importance of continued government support for the development of the national gaming industry.
Hans said that government support through holding events such as the Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) meeting for game developers and publishers is a positive step because it provides a space for collaboration and business development for industry players.
"If we look at the IGDX, for example, it's certainly a positive example of government support, providing a platform for all industry players to support each other and perhaps find deals (establish business partnerships)," Hans said when met at the IGDX event in Badung, Bali, on Friday.
Hans added that the government is currently preparing policies, such as regulations on classifying game content based on age through the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS), which is also part of efforts to support the domestic gaming ecosystem.
