Apple is reportedly planning to increase the RAM capacity of the iPhone 18 device to around 50 percent more than the RAM of the standard iPhone 17 model.
According to a report by South Korean publication, The Bell , as quoted by Gizmochina the RAM capacity of the iPhone 18 device will be increased to 12GB, on par with the high-end models in the iPhone 17 lineup.
This increased capacity appears to be driven by Apple's increasing focus on developing Apple Intelligence, which relies on local processing to ensure user security and privacy.
Samsung is reportedly set to supply Apple with its next-generation LPPDDF5X RAM modules, while other Korean companies like SK Hynix and Micron could meet the demand.
This RAM module is believed to work faster and be more power efficient than the chip currently used in the iPhone 17.
