Japan asks OpenAI to stop copying manga and anime

The Japanese government is reportedly increasing pressure on artificial intelligence (AI) company OpenAI to stop plagiarizing Japanese artwork in the form of manga and anime.

As reported by The Verge, Wednesday (15/10), this news was first reported by ITMedia and IGN as a response from the Japanese government to the proliferation of videos featuring AI-generated manga and anime characters in OpenAI's Sora application.

After Sora was announced, the AI-based social video app quickly gained widespread adoption and produced some questionable AI-generated material.
