The Turkish president stated, in a post on his official account on the Turkish platform "In Social," that what must be done now is "for Israel to immediately halt all its attacks and adhere to the ceasefire plan."
President Erdoğan stressed that all steps must be taken without delay to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and achieve lasting peace, "and to end this genocide and this shameful spectacle that is now deeply wounding the global conscience."
The Turkish President also affirmed that "in Türkiye, we will continue to fight with all our might to ensure that the talks conclude optimally for the benefit of the Palestinian people and to implement the two-state solution, which is also supported by the international community."
On Friday evening, Hamas said in a statement that it had submitted its response to the Trump plan for Gaza to mediators, announcing its agreement to release all Israeli prisoners, living and dead, and to hand over control of the Strip to a Palestinian body of independent technocrats based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support.
However, she stressed that the future of the Gaza Strip and the rights of the people are matters to be discussed within a Palestinian framework.
On September 29, Trump announced a 20-point plan, including the release of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza within 72 hours of Israel's acceptance of the plan, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.
During a press conference with Trump at the White House last Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that he "supports the Trump plan," believing it "achieves Israel's goals from the war."
This comes amid escalating Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, as Israel continues its extensive military operations aimed at occupying Gaza City and displacing its residents, amid famine and catastrophic humanitarian conditions resulting from the ongoing war.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 66,288 martyrs and 169,165 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 457 Palestinians, including 152 children.
