PSM Makassar, a 2025/2026 BRI Super League participant, has announced the appointment of Ahmad Amirrudin as interim coach to fill the position vacated by Bernardo Tavares.
Quoted from the official I.League website, Sunday, the certainty of Ahmad Amiruddin as interim coach was announced by PSM Makassar through their official statement regarding the departure of Bernando Tavares.
"Assistant coach Ahmad Amiruddin will act as caretaker until a new head coach is appointed," the club's official statement read.
Ahmad Amiruddin is no stranger to PSM Makassar, having served as assistant coach of the team nicknamed Juku Eja since the 2022/2023 season.
Still in the official statement, PSM Makassar expressed its gratitude to Bernardo Tavares who has managed the club for approximately 3.5 seasons.
PSM Makassar has accepted the departure of Bernando Tavares, a key figure in their success in winning the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1 title.
"The team's operational activities will continue as normal, with the focus on the remaining matches in the 2025/26 season. The team will resume training on October 10, 2025, after the FIFA International Break," the official statement read.
"Finally, PSM Makassar hopes for the full support of all its loyal supporters. The team's struggle is still long and will continue into the 2025/26 season. The support and prayers of all PSM Makassar fans are crucial going forward. Thank you, Ewako!" he said.
Next, PSM Makassar will face the eighth week of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 when they host Arema FC at the Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare.
