Samsung is reportedly developing foldable screen technology that can repair scratches independently as a step to increase the screen durability of its foldable phones.
Referring to the Gizmochina report, Tuesday (14/10), the South Korean technology giant has submitted a patent for this technology to local authorities.
The patent reveals that the company is developing a screen with a new “Self-Repairing” system.

This new screen technology uses microscopic wires and sensors to form a “sensor ring” around the screen cutout, which can help detect small cracks or any problems in this area.
The system can then activate the strengthening process by triggering a “fake metal pattern” that automatically seals and strengthens the affected area.
The final part of the process involves a special sealant that can help protect the OLED layer from oxygen or moisture.
