Liverpool manager Arne Slot commented on Mohamed Salah's performance, saying it was "quite normal" despite his star player not contributing a goal in the Reds' last five matches in all competitions.
In the match against Manchester United (MU) in the eighth week of the 2025/2026 Premier League at Anfield, Sunday, Salah's poor performance continued and resulted in the Reds' 1-2 defeat to their biggest rivals.
"I think it's quite normal," Slot said of Salah's performance, as quoted from Liverpool's official website, Monday.
In the match against Manchester United, Salah was substituted for the first time this season in the league. He played 85 minutes before being replaced by Jeremie Frimpong.
Sofascore noted that this was due to his poor performance on the pitch, having had one shot on target, two off target, and one big opportunity missed.
The Egyptian star has failed to score in the Reds' last three league games, which have ended in three defeats.
His goal-scoring record has also declined this season, with just two goals and two assists in the first eight Premier League games. In comparison, last season, Salah scored five goals and five assists in the first eight Premier League games.
