United States (US) Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US and Chinese governments have reached a final agreement on TikTok and will finalize the deal on Thursday (30/10).
According to a TechCrunch report on Sunday (26/10), Bessent said last month that the two countries reached a "framework" for the deal during discussions in Madrid, Spain, and US President Donald Trump then signed an executive order to facilitate the transaction.
In an interview on CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday morning (October 26), Bessent confirmed that the US and China had reached a final agreement regarding TikTok.
"We reached an agreement in Madrid, and I believe today all the details are finalized, and the two leaders will finalize the transaction on Thursday in Korea," he said.
However, he declined to elaborate on the details of the deal.
"My mission was to get China to agree to the transaction, and I believe we have achieved that in the last two days," he said.
