US President Donald Trump signed the guest book at the Israeli Knesset ahead of his scheduled address, adding a note praising "this great day."
Trump wrote in the log: "This is a great honor for me - a great and beautiful day. A new beginning."
Trump arrived earlier Monday at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, his first visit to Tel Aviv since being re-elected president.
Trump will deliver a speech to the Israeli Knesset before heading to Egypt to chair the "peace summit" in Sharm el-Sheikh, at a time when Hamas has released Israeli prisoners.
Asked if he was confident the conflict between Israel and Hamas was over, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, "The war is over. Okay? You get that," expressing confidence that the ceasefire "will hold."
Before taking off from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, Trump described his trip to the Middle East as "very special."
