A Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip, and dozens of tents belonging to displaced people were flooded in Khan Younis.

Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis said in a statement: "A martyr was killed by occupation fire in the town of Bani Suheila, inside the yellow line, east of the city."

The yellow line is the line to which the Israeli occupation army withdrew as part of the implementation of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war on Gaza.

The occupation army announced that after withdrawing to the yellow line, it still controls 53% of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli warships fired from the sea towards the shores of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with artillery shelling of the eastern areas of Khan Yunis.

On Tuesday morning, the occupation army carried out demolition operations on residential buildings in the areas it occupies east of Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation army carried out a demolition and bombing operation targeting several residential buildings in the areas it occupies in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Heavy rains flood the tents of displaced people

Regarding the humanitarian situation, dozens of tents sheltering displaced people who lost their homes during the Israeli aggression in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip were flooded on Tuesday, after heavy rains exacerbated their suffering, according to rescue teams.

Rescue teams explained that they dealt with dozens of tents that were flooded in several areas, while displaced people confirmed that hundreds of tents had turned into pools of rainwater, amid the absence of any means of protection.

The displaced people stated that the destruction of 92% of residential buildings, either completely or partially, forced the majority of the population to take shelter in tents that do not protect from the summer heat or the winter cold, or to remain in their cracked homes despite the risk of collapse with the floods.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric noted that "thousands of displaced families are now completely exposed to harsh weather conditions," warning of worsening health and humanitarian concerns.

The displacement areas turned into areas of mud and water, making movement inside the camps almost impossible, while water leaked into many tents, and the suffering of children and the elderly increased in light of a severe shortage of blankets, winter clothes and heating.

The displaced people are facing difficult conditions in the cold weather and lack of basic protective materials, which calls for urgent humanitarian intervention to secure the needs of the affected families.

Hamas and Israel reached a ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and with US sponsorship, and its first phase went into effect on October 10th.

Since that date, Israel has violated the agreement about 500 times, killing more than 342 Palestinians, according to the government media office in Gaza on Saturday.

The agreement ended a genocidal war launched by Israel on October 8 , 2013, which lasted two years with American support, leaving more than 69,000 Palestinian martyrs, over 170,000 wounded, and causing massive destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure.
