Apple is reportedly testing a low-cost MacBook model, and its release could surprise the global laptop market.
As reported by Phone Arena, Tuesday (4/11), this information was first reported by Bloomberg, which stated that the cheap MacBook being tested had the code name J700 and was in early discussions for production with overseas suppliers.
Rumors of a more affordable MacBook aren't new. This laptop could feature the same chipset found in iPhones and compete with Chromebooks or entry-level Windows laptops.
Bloomberg's report also mentions that Apple may market this laptop at a price well below US$1,000 (around Rp. 16 million) with components that may not be as sophisticated as other MacBooks.
