Bahrain Olympic Committee Vice President Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa said his country is proud to host the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 World Tour Manama Finals 2025, which will be held on November 21-22.
The FIBA 3x3 website stated on Tuesday that the culminating event of the World Tour series was a historic moment for Bahrain, which for the first time was entrusted to host the final of the most prestigious 3x3 tournament in the world.
"Hosting the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Finals in Manama is a proud moment for Bahrain and testament to our growing reputation as a world-class sports destination," said the man who is also the Vice President of the Olympic Council's Asia Region.
This year's World Tour Finals will feature the top 12 teams that qualified through a global series. These teams include Ub (Serbia), Amsterdam Rabobank (Netherlands), Miami (USA), Chongming (China), Liman (Serbia), Raudondvaris Hoptrans (Lithuania), Riffa (Bahrain), Toulouse (France), Hangzhou (China), Vienna (Austria), Skyliners (Germany), Partizan (Serbia), and the host team, Seef (Bahrain).
FIBA enthusiastically welcomed the finals in the Harbour North area, an iconic location on the edge of Manama Harbor that is said to create an urban sports festival atmosphere.
"Thank you to Bahrain for hosting a world-class event, bringing players, fans and everyone involved together to experience an incredible sporting festival, befitting the standards of a World Tour Finals," said FIBA 3x3 Managing Director Alex Sanchez.
Bahrain's success in hosting two editions of the World Tour series in 2023 and 2024 provided a strong basis for the appointment.
The finals are also expected to leave a positive legacy for the development of 3x3 basketball in Bahrain, as well as encourage interest among the younger generation in this increasingly popular urban sport.
