Barcelona has officially announced that they will return to hosting a Champions League match at Camp Nou Stadium for the first time in more than three years.
In a statement on the club's official website on Wednesday, Barcelona said that their Champions League matchday six match against Eintracht Frankfurt will be played at Camp Nou.
The match, which will take place on December 10, has the potential to be the first time visiting fans can watch a match at the stadium which is currently being renovated.
According to sources at The Athletic, in accordance with UEFA regulations, Frankfurt will be allocated around 5 percent of the usable capacity, or around 2,300 tickets, once stadium access adjustments are finalized.
This decision was taken shortly after Barcelona confirmed they would return to Camp Nou to host Athletic Club in a LaLiga match on Saturday (22/11).
Both LaLiga and Champions League matches will be played with a limited capacity of 45,401 spectators, less than half the stadium's final capacity of 105,000 seats once renovations are complete.
