Bowling aims to bring home two gold medals from the 2025 SEA Games
The chairman of the Indonesian Bowling Association (PBI), Agus Muhammad Bahron, explained that the national bowling team sent to the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand has been given a target of two gold medals.

"God willing, we will win gold in the men's doubles and team 4," Bahron said when met by ANTARA at the national bowling team's training ground at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Club in Jakarta on Thursday.

"Because our athletes have won gold medals at the SEA Games and the Asian Games, too. And I've also tried to see who our opponents are. And I'm confident because our scores during training have met our targets. We set targets for each training session," he said.

The Indonesian national bowling team for the 2025 SEA Games consists of four male and four female athletes. The four male athletes are Hardy Rachmadian, Billy Muhammad Islam, Yeri Ramadona, and Ryan Leonard Lalisang, while the four female athletes are Putty Insavilla Armein, Sharon Adelina Limansantoso, and Alisha Nabila Larasati.

The national bowling team will compete in six events at the 2025 SEA Games, namely men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men's 4-team, and women's 4-team.

The national bowling team will depart for Thailand on December 12. Bahron explained that the national bowling team trained at a lighter intensity before their departure.

"It's more relaxed, of course. So, because we've already finished , that means we're just getting started. Yes, because in bowling itself, there's a rule that... Oil pattern. Oil pattern... The oiling system that will be used there. And that was issued yesterday," said the figure, who is also a high-ranking officer in the Indonesian Air Force.

"It was released in Bangkok a month before the games. And we've implemented it here. So this is what will be used in the SEA Games," he said.

After bowling was not contested at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games, this marks the first time the sport has returned to the multi-sport Southeast Asian Games.

The last gold medal for bowling was at the 2021 SEA Games in the men's doubles event, with Hardy Rachmadian and Ryan Leonard Lalisang. At the 2021 SEA Games, the Indonesian bowling team also won a silver medal in the women's doubles event and a bronze medal in the women's four-piece team event.
