PBSI cannot yet confirm which junior players will compete in the Indonesia Masters

PBSI cannot yet confirm which junior players will compete in the Indonesia Masters  The Secretary General of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Ricky Soebagja, has not yet confirmed whether any of the junior players will participate in the 2026 Indonesia Masters.

Ricky revealed that currently the PBSI coaching and performance team (binpres) is still reviewing which players will be fielded.

"Well, we'll see (review performance), because it's the Super 500, who... there are regulations. I haven't looked at the details, but definitely not, there are no ranking restrictions to qualify for the Super 500, 750, and so on," Ricky told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

Ricky confirmed that the main players will appear at this BWF Super 500 tournament, including the Indonesian men's doubles duo Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, who have been in quite promising form during the last few tournaments.

"Well, we also have to be really good at selecting (the composition of the players), because once again, as the host, the athletes must really perform optimally there, so they are truly prepared to focus, especially at the Indonesia Masters," said Ricky.

"The Presidential Training and Coaches must pay attention to the series of events in January leading up to the Indonesia Masters. But especially for the Indonesia Masters, as we're the host nation, we must truly perform at our best to prepare our best athletes," he added.

The 2026 Indonesia Masters is scheduled to take place on January 20-25, 2026 at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.
