The Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent for the 2025 SEA Games, Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, promised to work towards addressing the issue of overweight baggage for bowling athletes.
During a visit to the national bowling team's training camp at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta on Thursday, one of the athletes expressed concern about excess baggage on airlines. The reason is that the bowlers will be using their own balls, with each athlete provided with 12.
"Indeed, the Ministry of Youth and Sports will handle baggage, but we will communicate with the relevant parties to ensure that the athletes' needs are met," Bayu told ANTARA.
"Accommodation will indeed be handled by the NOC (National Olympic Committee/Indonesian Olympic Committee), but there are other technical matters, perhaps some are the domain of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, some are the domain of the NOC. Later, we will discuss it with the NOC and also with the Ministry of Youth and Sports so that, especially with their respective duties and functions, the needs of athletes and also the supporting team are met and we can strive to realize it," he said.
