They opened the match with a 21-13 victory over Ecuador. Leonardo Branquinho and Leandro Da Silva were the driving force behind the victory, scoring a combined 13 points.
In their next match, they defeated Chile 21-17, thanks to Branquinho's consistent performance, scoring eight points. With these two wins, Brazil advanced to the knockout stage and is aiming for their first gold medal in the 3x3 AmeriCup.
In the women's division, defending champion Canada dominated despite coming with a new lineup. Two debutants, Jade Belmore and Merissah Russell, immediately made a significant impact on the team.
Canada started the day with a 22-10 win against the Dominican Republic, thanks to a stellar performance from Katherine Plouffe who scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
In the second match, the country became more aggressive and closed the match with a landslide victory of 21-3, led by Belmore with seven points.
