Trae Young out for another two weeks with a right knee injury

Trae Young out for another two weeks with a right knee injury  Atlanta Hawks basketball player Trae Young is confirmed to be out of the NBA for at least another two weeks as he recovers from a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in his right knee.

The NBA website stated Sunday that Young has been out since October 29 and still needs to undergo further rehabilitation before returning to the field.

The club informed that Young is showing positive progress after being out for a month.

He suffered the injury in a 117-112 win against the Brooklyn Nets, and an MRI confirmed he avoided a more serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The star's condition will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The four-time NBA All-Star guard has already missed 15 games. If his recovery period is extended by two more weeks, he is expected to miss at least seven more.

That situation also makes Young potentially ineligible for end-of-season awards, including All-NBA, because league rules stipulate that players must appear in at least 65 games.

Despite losing their main playmaker, the Hawks were able to maintain consistent performance.

A 130-123 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday (November 29) improved the Hawks to 12-8 on the season. They have been solid, winning 10 of their 15 games since Young's injury.

Despite this, Trae Young, who won the NBA assists championship last season, remains a key part of the team's plans. The Atlanta Hawks are hoping his recovery progresses as planned so he can quickly return to the team for a crucial period in the regular season.
