Indonesian men's doubles pair Christopher Rungkat and Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi advanced to the final of the ITF M15 Phan Thiet tournament in Vietnam after winning the semifinals in straight sets on Friday.
Christo/Rifqi, who were seeded second in the event, defeated the third seeded Danish-Italian pair Sebastian Grundtvig Jorgensen/Lorenzo Lorusso with 6-3, 6-3, quoted from the ITF website.
However, Rifqi had to bury his singles dreams after losing to third seed Chase Ferguson from Australia.
Rifqi, the sixth seed, was forced to fight back in the first set, 6(2)-7. He then couldn't make much of a comeback and was forced to surrender 0-6 in the second set in their first meeting.
Next in the doubles final Christo/Rifqi will face the unseeded Thai pair Thanapet Chanta/Pawit Sornlaksup, who defeated Daniel Khazime/Daniil Sarksian 6-1, 2-6 to reach the final.
