Several sports scheduled for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand this December will be held at new locations due to flooding.Based on a statement from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) in Jakarta, Friday, the Thailand SEA Games organizing committee or THASOC decided to move the location of several sports competitions that were originally planned to be held in Hat Yai District and Mueang District, Songkhla to Bangkok and Chonburi.
The decision was announced on November 27, 2025, at the second meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, chaired by Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, and attended by various Thai sports officials and related associations.
The sports competition arenas that were moved were men's football (qualification), chess, kabaddi, wushu, pencak silat, judo, petanque, karate, wrestling, as well as billiards and snooker.
THASOC emphasized that the relocation was carried out for safety reasons and to ensure the smooth running and quality of the largest multi-sport event in Southeast Asia.
