Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi) Nezar Patria emphasized that the struggle in the digital era must be based on a heroic spirit.
According to him, the fighting spirit of the heroes needs to be continued through dedication, innovation, and collaboration in the digital era.
"The heroes fought not for themselves, but for us, a generation they didn't even know. They taught us that independence doesn't fall from the sky, but is born from patience, courage, honesty, togetherness, and sincerity," Nezar said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He asked all parties to emulate the heroes' patience in pursuing knowledge, developing strategies, waiting for the right moment, and building togetherness amidst all limitations.
"Victory was born from patience, because they knew that independence was not achieved in haste, but was forged through time and sincerity," he said.
He said that amidst rapid technological change, every work, research, and creative idea born from the younger generation is a concrete form of the struggle to build a digitally sovereign nation.
"In this day and age, struggle is no longer fought with sharpened bamboo spears; it is fought with knowledge, empathy, and devotion," he stressed.
