The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has officially launched the FIBA SMART Fantasy League, the first fantasy game competition featuring the experience of coaching a national team, ahead of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.
The FIBA website stated on Wednesday that through the game, fans can create their dream lineup by selecting guards , forwards , and centers from among the athletes who participated in the qualifying event.
Participants must also set player salary limits, as well as determine SMART Captain and X-Factor to maximize points earned.
The game uses a Fantasy Points system calculated based on the players' FIBA Efficiency Rating (EFF) in real matches, plus bonuses for special performances.
In addition, FIBA provides rewards in the form of Nike gift cards worth up to 200 US dollars in each qualifying window, for participants with the best scores.
