Google launched Gemini 3, its latest generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, which it claims is the most advanced model the technology company has ever created.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, the model is now directly usable through the Gemini app and its AI-based search feature. Gemini 3 launches seven months after Gemini 2.5.
Its appearance also comes less than a week after OpenAI released GPT 5.1 and two months after Anthropic introduced Sonnet 4.5, marking a fierce competition in AI model development.
Google is also preparing a more research-focused version called Gemini 3 Deepthink. This model will be available in the coming weeks to Google AI Ultra customers after undergoing additional security testing.
"With Gemini 3, we saw a huge leap in reasoning capabilities. These models responded with a depth and nuance we'd never seen before," said Gemini Head of Product Tulsee Doshi.
