Meta introduces a feature to prevent unauthorized re-uploads of Reels content.

Meta has launched Facebook Content Protection, a new feature designed to help creators protect their original work from unauthorized reuse, particularly for Reels content uploaded to Facebook.

As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, this feature allows creators to receive a notification if their Reels are used by others without their consent. Creators can then choose to block access to the Reels on Facebook and Instagram, track their performance, or add an attribution link to let viewers know the true owner of the work.

Creators can also waive claims by allowing the content to remain visible on the Meta platform.

Meta stated that the presence of this content protection feature is part of the company's efforts to support content creators so they are not sidelined by counterfeit content.

Last July, Meta revealed that it had shut down approximately 10 million profiles impersonating major creators and taken action against 500,000 accounts for spamming or fake interactions.
