The online game Roblox will require age verification for all players who want to access its chat feature starting in January 2026, following a series of lawsuits and investigations related to the platform's child safety system.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, currently users can voluntarily verify their age to access the chat feature.
In early December, Roblox will begin implementing mandatory age verification in several countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. The policy will then be rolled out globally in January.
